Manama, Bahrain Bourse (BHB), a licensed exchange by the Central Bank of Bahrain, in collaboration with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), proudly honored the 20 graduates of the BHB Board Mentorship Program at a distinguished ceremony. Providing specialized training, the program prepares aspiring senior executives for board positions, thereby fostering government excellence within the corporate sector.
The ceremony was attended by Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Lulwa Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), Maha Mofeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, CEO of BHB, and Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh, CEO of BIBF. Other attendees included CEOs and representatives from listed companies and various organizations, program participants, and the Executive Management of BHB and the BIBF.
On this occasion, the minister emphasised that such qualitative training programs contribute to the dev
elopment and preparation of executive leaders from board members to assume executive tasks in the future, which confirms the commitment of BHB and the BIBF to develop corporate governance standards and prepare a new generation of board members through this initiative, wishing everyone success in achieving their goals.
During the five-week mentorship program, participants engaged in 32 hours of comprehensive training. This included interactive workshops and lectures conducted by a global team of experts, providing participants with crucial knowledge and practical skills necessary for potential boardroom roles. A key highlight of the program was the Board Factual Simulation, which allowed participants to apply their learning in simulated real-world scenarios, testing their decision-making abilities and strategic thinking.

The launch of the BHB Board Mentorship Program was announced in March 2024 at the annual “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality” event, hosted by Bahrain Bourse in conjunction with 105 international exchanges and clearing houses and in partnership with prominent organizations, including the International
Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), and UN Women.
BHB and the BIBF remain committed to advancing corporate governance standards and preparing the next generation of board members through this impactful initiative.
