Manama: Supreme Council for Youth and Sports deputy general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee general secretary Abdulrahman Askar received at his office in Seef president of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) Kerrith Brown, who is on an official visit to Bahrain.
During the meeting, both parties reviewed had discussions on subjects of mutual interest, while Askar was briefed on the programme of the IMMAF president’s visit to the kingdom.
Askar asserted the committee commitment to support Bahrain in hosting the next World Mixed Martial Arts Championship, which will take place from November 12 to 19.
This first of its kind event in Bahrain will be held under the patronage of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President.
On his part, the IMMAF chief said he was impressed with the arrangements made in Bahrain to prepare for the World Championship next month, and stressed his confidence in Bahrain to pull off one of the best IMMAF events ever this year.
